  • DAY 3 – Hospital Volunteering
    Day 3 of volunteering focused on the cardiac cycle. Learning how the heart fills, pumps, and relaxes during every heartbeat gave me a new appreciation for the remarkable coordination that keeps blood flowing throughout the body.

    Day 2 of volunteering was all about blood pressure, but an observation made during patient rounds led me to spend the evening learning about hernias. It was a reminder that some of the most valuable lessons in medicine begin with simple curiosity.

    Day 1 in cardiology was all about going back to the basics. Learning how to assess a pulse and understanding the purpose of an ECG gave me a glimpse into the foundation of cardiovascular medicine and the skills clinicians use every day.
